About Jason Amato
About Jason
I've spent the last 23 years actively serving as an elected public servant, and my whole life proactively being involved in our local community. During this time, I've collaborated with other leaders in our region and state to initiate, progress, and most importantly, complete many quality-of-life improvements.
Having recently retired from Shell Chemical in Geismar after 34 years, I will be your full-time State Representative. Our district deserves its representative to give his all, and I'm committed to doing that. However, my primary role is always to be a husband and father. I have been married to my wife Nancy for 34 years. Together, we have two daughters and recently welcomed our first grandchild, Colt.

Conservative Leader
I was the first Republican elected to public service in St. James Parish. As a true conservative, I'm willing to stand for traditional values, even when that means making a path where there wasn't one before. However, I know that as a community and as a state, nothing gets done without leadership partnering together. I'm committed to working with our Local and State Officials to promote conservative values while fighting for the greater good of all residents of District 81.

Key Issues
I'll be the voice that will champion the issues most important to District 81.
Drainage and hurricane protection have to be prioritized to protect our homes and our families. I will address the current issues with our Homeowner Insurance and Flood Insurance programs that are directly impacting our Residents and Businesses.
Roads and bridges are crucial to our infrastructure. I will work to ensure the road and bridge projects currently slated for District 81 remain funded and completed on schedule.
Public safety needs better funding, support, and resources.
Education is the key to our children and our state's future. As a state, we need to fully support teachers, fight for funding in our school systems, and strengthen our schools.
I have the conservative values, political knowledge, emergency response experience, and expansive leadership skills to immediately step into the State Capital and be effective for our community as the next State Representative in District 81. I'm committed to tackling whatever challenges our state faces over the next four years.
